Lake Worth City Attorney Says There’s An Alternative To The Run-off

City Attorney, Glen Torcivia has advised the City to forgo a run-off election on March 26th for the District Four Commission race by instead entering the ‘concession’ letter from Candidate Tom Copeland into the record at the March 19th Special Commission meeting at 5:30 and proceed directly with certifying the results of the election and swearing in both incumbents, Herman Robinson and Omari Hardy as well as certifying the results of the two ballot questions. Whether this action by the Commission will draw legal action remains to be seen. Up until a few hours ago, the City Clerk’s office was in preparation for a run-off election to be held March 26th in order to comply with the City Charter mandate that duly elected commissioners must have received a majority of the votes cast in that election.
